Review: Once Upon a Summer

Once Upon a Summer (Seasons of the Heart #1)Once Upon a Summer by Janette Oke

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

One of my favourite authors! This book is very sweet. I love reading about the late 1800s (early 1900s) period and sometimes I wish I could go back in time.

Review: Jurassic Park

Jurassic ParkJurassic Park by Michael Crichton

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book started off good, but it got progressively worse. Most of the characters started to annoy me and I couldn't wait for it to be finished.

Review: The Help

The HelpThe Help by Kathryn Stockett

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Awesome book! I literally could not stop reading and it's been a while since I was able to say that about a book. It hooked me in from the beginning.

Review: Rebecca

RebeccaRebecca by Daphne du Maurier

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book, but it took me a while to finish reading it. Job is in the way of my reading! Anyway, I had to put myself in the frame of mind of the period it was written in, just so I don't get too frustrated about some aspects of the book. Overall, an enjoyable, although long, read.

Review: One for the Money

One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1)One for the Money by Janet Evanovich

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cute little mystery. I liked the characters more than the story itself, so I hope that the next ones are better.

Review: Water for Elephants

Water for ElephantsWater for Elephants by Sara Gruen

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book started off slow for me, but about half way through it got interesting. I didn't think I'd end up giving it 4 stars. I could have done without the animal violence, but I'll look past that one. Overall, it was a nice book that read fairly quickly.

Review: Decision Points

Decision PointsDecision Points by George W. Bush

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I had to read this book to see what his thought process was while in the White House. It was a long book, but quite readable. It left me with a more positive view of George as a person. Even though I still don't agree with some of his decisions, I understand them.

Review: The Book Thief

The Book ThiefThe Book Thief by Markus Zusak

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book has a brutal ending! Overall I liked it, but there were places where it was dragging for me. The last quarter is can't-put-down-able.

Review: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1)The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great read. Although I felt that it could have been shortened a bit, especially at the end, it was still a wonderful story.
